Pro Infirmis Spendenplattform

Brave new world of donating

„It was fascinating to see which stories lend themselves for the Pro Infirmis donating section, and which don’t.“

Challenge

A self-determined life and unrestricted participation in society for people with disabilities - that’s what Pro Infirmis advocates what they need donations for. We were asked to replace the inconspicuous „Donate“ button on the Pro Infirmis website with a pleasant, ample, and of course barrier-free world of experience.

Staging & inciting

Potential donors are presented authentic stories about people with disabilities. The messages the stories convey are all the same: people with disabilities may not have an easy life, but it is just as worth living and offers just as many prospects as any other - given that they receive the financial and technical support needed. Pro Infirmis had done the major work before we even started: they handed us over a stock of great stories they had already used for the offline communications. All we had to do is stage them in a grasping way and frame them in a pleasant design.

Direct & personal

By these stories, potential donors quickly see what the main challenge of a person is, and with one click, they can donate for him or her. They can choose between a onetime or a regular donation. The payment form - developed by our partner RaiseNow - allows for a quick and easy donation process.

Barrier-free

We have coded the donation section according to the „Access for all“ web design principles in order to maximise its accessibility for people with disabilities, be they sensory, physical, or intellectual. This means for example, that we minded sharp contrasts in order to optimise the readability for visually impaired people. Furthermore, we made to make sure that the texts are decodable for so called screen readers, an application that reads out written web content, or that the pages can be handled via keyboard.

Effect

An accessible donation section in every sense - and one that enriches people both with and without disability.
